Word from the Chef

I wasn’t supposed to be a pub chef. Sure, I’d been taught home cooking basics from my mother & grandmother, but the 1997 plan was for McGee’s to be more bar than kitchen. That concept got blown to Hell the first week of business. We were over-run with thirsty and hungry patrons. Way before social media, who knew word about our opening had spread that fast. The one cook we thought we’d need for a quiet opening and a small bar menu quit by the 1st Friday night. As the saying goes, “Needs must when the Devil drives”. That fateful weekend, changed the trajectory of our pub & my life. I sincerely hope you enjoy each & every dish you order at McGee’s Scot-Irish Pub. It was a worthwhile journey to get here, but it surely wasn’t easy.
